Now that it is reaching 80 degrees, it’s time to bring out the blender and some frozen fruits. So let’s get right to it! I planned to make some nice cream and at the time had a bunch of mint that I bought in bulk at an asian market, so I decided to throw it in, added some cacao nibs for a bitter chocolately crunch, before I knew it I had made a vegan mint chip recipe.

Frozen Bananas
Canned Coconut Milk
Maca/ Ashwagandha
Fresh Mint
Cacao Nibs
Vanilla Pea Protein Powder
Matcha (I used it but it’s optional)

Key Notes:
If you don’t like a strong banana taste like me, the canned coconut milk does a good job of covering it up.
If you’re making this in the morning I would consider using Maca, if you’re making this at night I would use Ashwagandha, if you only have Ashwagandha then morning or night use is fine too!
To achieve a thicker more ice cream like texture, use more frozen bananas or less coconut milk.
Spirulina is a superfood, which will give our smoothie a natural green color. But you only want to use a teaspoon or two, because it has a pretty potent flavor and smell.

You might of heard of this up and coming superfood, but actually it’s been around for a long time. When taken in the morning, ashwagandha increases your energy levels, and when taken at night helps you sleep better. Ashwagandha is an important herb in Ayurvedic medicine because it serves many purposes and benefits many body systems, including the immune, neurological, endocrine and reproductive systems. The primary goal of Ayurvedic medicine is to help people stay healthy without the need for suffering, prescription drugs or complicated surgeries.
